Vendu Dickhaut Maastricht is looking for a Receptionist / Front Office Assistant m/f

We are looking for a proactive, energetic and representative receptionist/front office assistant m/f who will welcome our customers hospitably and support our team with administrative and organisational tasks. In this role, you will be given a lot of freedom to further shape the position and make the best use of your talents. 

What will you do? 

You will be the first point of contact at our auction house and ensure that everything runs smoothly. Your duties are varied and give you the chance to develop broadly. 

What we expect from you:

An enthusiastic and accurate colleague who knows how to get to work. You have good communication skills in Dutch and English, other languages are an advantage. A hospitable appearance, a sense of responsibility and a willingness to take initiative are essential to us, as are your collegial attitude and a healthy dose of humour. And finally... some affinity with art, antiques and jewellery. 

  • Experience in administrative and organisational tasks; 
  • Handy with Excel and Word and quickly at home with new systems; 
  • Sense of responsibility and ability to work accurately and independently; 
  • Affinity with art, antiques and jewellery. 

Your work in brief:

  • Receiving customers and relations and managing incoming phone calls and e-mails. By asking questions properly, you know exactly how to help the customer further;
  • Manage the appraisers' diaries's and schedule appointments; 
  • Assist with valuation work, including drafting reports and preparing invoices; 
  • Contribute to the preparation and execution of auctions. Consider sending out submission lists and receiving and supervising visitors during viewing and valuation days. 
  • Taking care of front office management and facilities tasks, such as ordering office supplies. directing suppliers for maintenance and ensuring the reception area and office are presentable; 
  • Identify improvement opportunities and pick up additional tasks that contribute to an efficient working environment.
