About us
History
Vendu Dickhaut Maastricht is one of the oldest auction houses in the Netherlands. The first establishment of the Notary House on Gelderschekade dates back to the French era in 1812. Since then, it has undergone several transitions to become today's Vendu Dickhaut Maastricht. We have now been situated for several decades in the monumental building on Kipstraat, where our enthusiastic team will be happy to welcome you.
Vendu saw Rotterdam grow over 200 years into a world port city with its own story. The devastation of the Second World War and the reconstruction are characteristic of the Rotterdam of today. Our auction house reflects the spirit of the times and developed over the years into a meeting place for professionals, gallery owners, collectors and interested private individuals with a shared love of both classic and modern objects. In addition to years of experience in the field of art and antiques, our auction house distinguishes itself through specialised Design auctions featuring applied art from 1900 to the present day.
Activities
Vendu Dickhaut Maastricht organises several annual Art & Antiques auctions, Design auctions, General auctions, Jewellery & Watches auctions and property auctions. On occasion, our auctions are dedicated to a specific theme or a special collection. In doing so, we provide appropriate venues at (inter)national level for a wide audience. You can also come to us for valuations for insurance or distribution and succession and lend our expertise for workshops and other events.
Our team
Our auction house has a team of experts with specialisms in jewellery, paintings, Asian art and 20th-century applied art. Because expertise in various subfields is largely in-house, we can provide a rare level of expertise. We also draw on knowledge from circles of art historians, collectors and museums. We work with experienced auctioneers and a highly skilled transporter. Our auction house subscribes to the code of conduct of the Federation of Valuers Brokers Auctioneers in Movable Property (TMV).
