In 1995, Gallery Bigorna opened its doors, not to the general public, but to collectors and insiders. A discreet place in the south of the country, accessible only by appointment for true enthusiasts. Within these modest walls, a prestigious collection of contemporary and modern art was managed, with works by grandmasters such as Schoonhoven, Dumas, Matisse, Max Ernst, Man Ray and Appel. Even artworks from the collections of the House of Orange Nassau found a temporary home here.
Now, years after the closure of this exclusive gallery, this hidden art treasure is being unveiled. In collaboration with auction house Vendu Dickhaut Maastricht, the entire collection will be auctioned off, each work still bearing its original description and price on the back, exactly as Gallery Bigorna once handled it. A unique opportunity to acquire a piece of art history.
