Auction houses Venduehuis Dickhaut Maastricht and Vendu Dickhaut Maastricht have agreed to join forces with effect from 1 January 2025.
With the collaboration, the knowledge of the various experts will be used for both companies. Marketing efforts will also be combined. The cooperation will not affect staff. Both auction houses will continue to follow their own auction agenda. However, IT systems will be shared in the background.
Wim Moerman of Vendu Dickhaut Maastricht points out that changing laws and regulations and technological developments are making the auction company's operations increasingly complex. The cooperation provides the necessary efficiency in this respect.
The cooperation will allow the service both companies provide to its customers to continue and improve. Jeanette Dohmen adds: 'For our customers, it means even more attention to the lots submitted. This will have a positive effect on the yield of the lots.'
Together, the auction houses organise some 25 auctions a year for art, antiques, design, jewellery, watches and collectibles. In doing so, some 20,000 lots are auctioned online every year.
Both auction houses have a long history. Vendu Dickhaut Maastricht, founded in 1812, is one of the oldest auction houses in the Netherlands. Venduehuis Dickhaut, founded in 1930, is also a long-established name.
