Valuing ceramics at Vendu Dickhaut Maastricht
Have your antique vase valued by us
Do you have a ceramic vase, bowl or sculpture in your home and are curious about its value? At Vendu Dickhaut Maastricht, you can have your ceramics valued free of charge by expert appraisers. Whether you own an heirloom, have a collection or are considering selling your ceramics: we will help you with a careful valuation and possibly a place in our auction.
What are ceramics worth and how does a valuation work?
Ceramics come in many forms and styles: from Art Deco works to modern studio ceramics and Asian objects from Japan or China. The value of ceramics is determined by their origin, age, maker, condition and rarity, among other factors. At Vendu Dickhaut Maastricht, we look at these factors with a keen eye to provide you with an honest and up-to-date valuation.
At Vendu Dickhaut Maastricht, you can have a ceramic valuation carried out in three ways, depending on what is most convenient for you:
- Online valuation: Send clear photos of your objects via our digital form or by e-mail. Think of overview photos, detail shots of damage, and especially the underside on which there are often signatures or marks. Based on these, you will receive an initial estimate of the value within a few working days.
- Free valuation days: Every Tuesday, our Maastricht auction house is open for free valuations. You are then welcome by appointment to have your ceramics appraised by one of our specialists.
- On location: Do you have a larger collection or find it difficult to come to Maastricht? If you wish, our experts can come to your home for a comprehensive home valuation. This is particularly interesting for household effects or larger heirlooms.
Based on this, you will receive an initial valuation. Is additional research needed? Then we will invite you for an appointment at our premises.
Why have ceramics valued?
The market for ceramics is broad and dynamic. Rare objects by well-known studios or artists such as Chris Lanooy, Pieter Groeneveldt or Lucie Rie are sought-after by collectors. But more unknown work can also surprise in value. A valuation of ceramics is important when you:
- Want your object to be included in an auction
- Considering selling ceramics
- Want your possessions insured
- Want to settle an inheritance correctly
We offer a free valuation for ceramics both online via photos and by appointment at our premises in Maastricht. Would you like to have your ceramics valued for insurance or inheritance purposes? Then take into account a starting fee of €150 for the first hour, this does not include VAT and report costs.
